Abstract
Background: Balint groups are essential in Psychosomatic Medicine, focusing on healthcare relationships and providing psychotherapeutic training.
Objective: To evaluate Balint groups' impact on healthcare personnel.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 34 healthcare professionals who participated in a Psychosomatic Medicine course (2018-2020) and engaged in Balint groups. Participants were categorized by academic background and completed a survey with ten multiple-choice questions and one open-ended question.
Results: Participants evaluated Balint groups predominantly positively. Group atmosphere, leadership, and interest in future participation received favorable feedback. No significant differences were observed among professional groups in most evaluations, except psychiatrists reported higher perception of future impact compared to traditional/natural medicine specialists (p<0.05).
Conclusion: The Balint group serves as an effective self-learning tool with emotional impact, enhancing healthcare personnel training and medical care quality.
