Resumen
Antecedentes: En las sociedades anglosajonas existe una amplia evidencia que señala que el desarrollo de cuadros de salud mental materna impacta negativamente en la interacción madre-bebé. Sin embargo, en los países de América Latina aun cuando existe una alta prevalencia de trastornos mentales comunes, la literatura sobre las respuestas sensibles de la madre y su asociación con la salud mental es escasa. Por lo tanto, el objetivo del estudio fue recopilar y analizar la asociación entre la salud mental y la sensibilidad materna en Latinoamérica. Métodos: Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en cuatro bases de datos bajo la metodología PRISMA. Se incluyeron artículos realizados en países de América Latina que contemplaran a las variables de estudio, centrados en los primeros tres años de vida del bebé. Resultados: 13 artículos fueron incluidos en la revisión. El 61.5% de los estudios mostraron, aunque débil, una relación negativa entre la depresión postparto y la sensibilidad materna. Conclusiones: Los resultados sugieren que esta línea de investigación puede ser profundizada en Latinoamérica a través de una mirada holística considerando la salud mental de las madres en conjunto con sus condiciones contextuales, las características del infante y la interacción triádica.
