Abstract
This article presents the results of a research about the importance of significant others over the decision to enter an addiction treatment, taken by an individual who has developed an addiction. Especially, it becomes interesting to understand how the participation of these significant others influence the perception of free choice of the individual who carries the addiction. From this point, the notion of motivation is discussed.
